What Exactly is Foreign Exchange?

The dollar of US. baht of Thailand, Yen of the Japanese, and the Pound of the UK are just among the national currencies.  Most countries has own national currencies.  This Currency is necessary for their transactions such as paying goods and services within the border of their country.  But in times when we are traveling world wide and we need to pay for services, Foreign currencies is required for cross-border services and sales.  Therefore, there is a means to access foreign currencies so payments can be done in an acceptable form to the seller, and this mechanism is called Foreign Exchange.

Foreign Exchange is simply a money that is denominated in another national currency.  A simple example is this, an individual exchanging his own national currency for the currency of another country.  Today, more investors are getting interested in Currency Exchange and they are participating in this market.  They greatly benefit from the profits of this when the price of currencies falls and rise against another.

Foreign exchange has always been involved in tourism and in travel abroad.  But foreign exchange is not only limited to the relatively small amount of money that tourists handles when they have to exchange currency on arrival for paying those restaurant bills and hotels and also taxi.  These foreign exchange is also apply to larger transactions like the exchange of millions of US dollars when a certain company considers buying another company overseas or simply when they Transfer Money.  Generally, when we talk about foreign exchange market, we are concerned about the foreign currency in which is exchanged between dealers of international foreign exchange.
